Australian Carjackings - Carjacking in Australia

Many Australians seem to think that carjacking is an American phenomenon which simply doesn't happen in Australia.

Unfortunately the statistics and Australian press reports tell a very different story to the common misconceptions.

The fact is that carjackings DO occur in Australia and on a very regular basis.

Though a big problem in Sydney, it certainly isn't limited to Sydney, with carjackings having occurred in many cities in Australia including Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

And the carjacking epidemic is definitely not limited to drivers of ultra high end luxury vehicles. Recent Australian carjackings have included carjackings of drivers of 3-series BMW's, Ford Territory 4WD's, Holden Commodores, and Subaru's.

And carjackings are getting more and more violent ...
