Wyong Automotive Racing Precinct

Following up on our story back in February with details of plans to develop a motorsport facility on the NSW central coast to the north of Sydney (an idea we think is very good indeed), things seem to be moving in the right direction.

A call for expressions of interest has appeard on Wyong Council's website. It reads ...

"Council has resolved to recognise in principle the need to establish a regional Motor Sport and Driver Education facility within the Wyong Shire.

As a result, the Wyong Automotive Racing Precinct (WARP) project has been established, with a view to to exploring the potential to create a Motor Sport facility which could cater for a broad range of activities, including:

• Driver education facility (both general and race car education)


• Car and motorcycle testing and racing facility for car enthusiast and club use


• Dirt bike tracks


• Mountain biking facility


• Karting


• Car dealer demonstration areas


• Potential drag strip venue for street racers and / or


• Concert / event space"

The council is calling for expressions of interest and comments.

The council website continues ...

"Council is now conducting initial planning investigations in order to identify user group requirements for such a facility.

As part of these investigations Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential user groups to determine the level of interest if such a facility was established in Wyong Shire and to provide a list of requirements including the range of facilities required and potential usage level of such facilities.

Based on the outcomes of this EOI process, Council will utilise this information to investigate possible locations within Wyong Shire for development of a Wyong Automotive Racing Precinct."

We'd encourage all automotive clubs to make your voice heard about the need for this facility.

Note that the Council questionaire reads "Please return to Wyong Shire Council by 17 July 2009" which is only two weeks from now.

World Time Attack Challenge 2011 is this Friday and Saturday (5 and 6 August 2011) at Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney

It's been a while since our last blog post, as we have been busy with preparations for the 2011 World Time Attack Challenge and have also completed our move to new larger premises.

So this post is just a reminder to everyone that the 2011 World Time Attack Challenge is on this Friday 5 August and Saturday 6 August at Eastern Creek International Raceway in Sydney Australia.

Project S14A will not be at this event as the build is still in progress, but Mark Berry's Advan / Hi Octane Racing R34 GT-R and the Kakavas Racing Evo have both entered the event.

So if you're in Sydney, get out to the track on Friday and Saturday to see an amazing line up of incredible time attack machines from Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the US.

World Time Attack Challenge 2010 Preview Video Eastern Creek Raceway Sydney Australia

Time Attack racing has become a global phenomenon in the last couple of years.

The format is pure and simple - the fastest cars racing against the clock, and the best time wins.

A new video has just been released which is a preview for the 2010 World Time Attack Challenge, which will be held at Eastern Creek International Raceway in Sydney Australia on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd May, 2010.

The optional Works Bell 6H adapter is also available so that the Rapfix Racing range can be used with 6 bolt steering wheels. So you can use compatible 3 bolt competition steering wheels or compatible 6 bolt steering wheels with the Rapfix Racing range.
